Congratulations to Seal Team Six! Their courage and tactical skill has eliminated an enemy of America and a threat to the American people. They can be proud of their operation, and Americans can be proud of them; proving the point to all of our adversaries, anywhere in the world: “You can run but you cannot hide!” Not forever anyway.
Although this operation has culminated in the death of Osama Bin Laden, it does not signal an end to Al-Qaeda. Its operatives are still lurking in the shadows, caves, back allies, and spider holes around the world waiting for America to drop its guard. We won’t.
We understand that we are engaged in nothing less than a clash between two civilizations: one a multi-racial, multi-religious, multi-cultural society where all individuals are offered an opportunity to express their individuality and pursue their personal happiness within the rule of law; and the other a monolithic radicalism where women are chattel and anyone who is not one of them is an infidel deserving of death.
The struggle may be long but the outcome is sure. Much like the death of Osama Bin Laden.
