Government justice officials in Nigeria have indicted former US Vice President Dick Cheney on bribery charges stemming from an investigation into actions taken by KBR Engineering, a subsidiary of energy services giant Haliburton, while Dick Cheney was its Chairman.

KBR admitted to bribing Nigeria government officials in connection with the construction of a liquefied natural gas plant in Southern Nigeria to the tune of $180 million dollars. KBR paid a $579 million fine in the United States for the conviction. The Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has filed 16 charges against the former Vice President in connection with the case.
